The problem was that they could not maintain their stamina. Its solution was considered by grasping the reality of the eating habits and lifestyle of junior high school students, planning about guidance for improving eating habits and bringing it into effect. A review was carried out by analyzing the data from the survey conducted in July, 2014 on eating habits and lifestyle, games and club activities. We carried out guidance about meal contents and volume, ways of eating snacks, living conditions, meals of before and after games and use of nutrition supplements. We investigated the data from the survey right after the guidance. In addition, we examined the guidance contents, change of consciousness, and eating practices one month after carrying out the guidance for improving eating habits. After the guidance, meal contents and volume of the main breakfast dish increased moderately. Students decreased the surplus energy intake of snacks. With an earlier bed time, the percentage of the responses “sometimes feel dizziness” or “sometimes have no appetite” decreased. More students correctly recognized proper nutrition supplements. This study suggested that guidance is important to acquire basic eating habits for junior high school students who belong to sports clubs.
