| 内容記述 | In 2023, Hiroshima Jogakuin University was certified by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as a provider of "Approved Program for Mathematics, Data Science and AI Smart Higher Education (Literacy)". As part of this program, the elective course titled "Search Algorithms" was developed. MEXT emphasizes that MDASH (Literacy) education should prioritize accessibility, relevance to real-world contexts, and the cultivation of broad perspectives among students. This study reports on the development and implementation of a lesson plan that employs standard playing cards as instructional tools to support students' comprehension of algorithmic thinking. The lesson activities focused on maximum-value search, target-value search, and the comparison of linear and binary search methods. The effectiveness of using playing cards as a learning aid was evaluated through student course feedback. A majority of students responded positively, reporting that they not only enjoyed the activities but also recognized the importance of algorithm education. |
