To prevent the onset of allergic symptoms, patients with food allergy have to avoid the responsible allergens from diets and cooking devices. To date, severe\nmanagement of allergic disease by the elimination of foods with allergens as well as the anxiety against the development of symptoms due to accidental ingestion of foods with allergens may result in physiological stress in patients and their families.\nHence, the first camp for children with food allergy and their families was held in August 2, 2009 at Kawa Mori Bunka Koryu Center, located at the northwest area in Hiroshima prefecture, in order to provide basic information and knowledge about food allergy to the participants, and to make a valuable opportunity to communicate each other. The second and third camp was held on August 1, 2010 and August 7, 2011, respectively, at the same place. Totally twelve families including 15 children patients with food allergy participated in the second and/or third camp, where they studied about procedures for cooking to avoid food allergens from lunch and dessert, and protecting accidental ingestion of foods with allergens. In these two camps, according to The Guidelines for the Treatment of Allergic Diseases in Schools published by the Japanese Society of School Health in 2008, we set level 4; elimination of foods containing allergens and taking suitable nutrients from the other foods, as the goal.
