However, the prevalence of taste and smell dysfunction may be underestimated, as it is difficult to assess the true prevalence of such disorders because of the complexities of the chemosensory system. Therefore, we tried to collect the data base of healthy subjects for influence on taste and smell function. The subjects were 65 young women, who are students in Hiroshima Jogakuin University.\nIn order to investigate relations of taste and olfactory, we adopted the whole mouth method gustatory test. First we tested gustatory threshold without adding on to the smell. Next we tested gustatory threshold adding on to the smell.
