| 内容記述 | In comparison with other skills of language, writing ability is the lowest even in European countries, much lower in EFL countries. In order to improve writing ability in Japanese EFL classes, this paper discusses issues arising from recent work on studies of problems of writing in English as a foreign language and presents the effect of teaching writing on cooperative laerning based on the theory of multiple intelligences (MI). The first part of the paper summarizes the recent studeies that have examined reading-writing relations, feedback of error correcion, fluency and accuracy, and vocabularu, and then presents the analysis of the multiple intelligences that contribute to writing activities in Japanese EFL classes. Finally, the results of debate activities show that EFL learners use multiple intelligences to understand topics. A brainstorming session about a topic generates a lot of ideas, and it is useful to write them down in a notebook. Working with others is more helpful than working alone in writing. | |||||||||||
