内容記述 | The Amendment Act for Eliminating Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities will go into effect from April 1, 2024, making it mandatory even for private universities to provide reasonable accommodation. While many private universities are working on establishing support systems for students with disabilities, the size of the university affects budget and staff numbers. This article focuses on practical examples for supporting students with disabilities in small universities, aiming to highlight challenges in providing reasonable accommodation. Moreover, in the post-COVID-19 era, it explores effective ways to support students with disabilities and conduct student counseling for psychological assistance. It reports on case studies of supporting students with disabilities at Hiroshima Women's University, discussing how we should collaborate and cooperate with people from different professions, and how we should provide training to support students with disabilities. In conclusion, this article suggests that support systems for students with disabilities in small universities can take various forms depending on their specific characteristics, and that regardless of university size, student support that combines assistance for students with disabilities and student counseling is necessary in the current situation where diverse students are admitted. | |||||||||||
