内容記述 | This paper introduces the lesson subjects “Special Support Education” and “Educational Counseling” based on the core curriculum that was offered in the elementary school teaching profession course of our university, and points to keep in mind when incorporating psychological assessment using psychological tests into the lesson content. In addition, among psychological tests, I will take up the intelligence test, especially WISC-IV (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth Edition), and how elementary school teachers can use it to support children. Regarding the handling of psychological assessments including psychological tests such as intelligence tests in the lesson content, the lesson subject “Special Support Education” not only deals with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities, but also actively deals with borderline intelligence and 2E(twice-exceptional). In addition, I would like to show that the assessment leads to the next step, such as concrete response and planning of individual education support plan. In the lesson subject “Educational Counseling”, WISC-IV is taken up based on the recent trends in intelligence research, and I would like to provide an opportunity to think about “difficulty in living” of children from the cognitive characteristics shown in WISC-IV. Understanding the basic knowledge about WISC-IV for students aiming to become elementary school teachers leads to understanding of children with developmental disabilities who are often enrolled in regular classes, and the students will be able to provide appropriate support when they actually become elementary school teachers. |
