The Central Council for Education published a report in Heisei 28 (2016) and directions for the Course of Study for Elementary Schools were revised based on this report. It defines students’ competencies required in the new era as “what students can do,” and the revised objectives and contents to “what students will learn,” proposing the establishment of new subject areas and subjects based on students’ competencies. It also shows “subjective, interactive and deep learning” to develop their competencies, on the basis of the aspect “how students should learn.”
In the subject of mathematics too, objectives and contents should be reformed and the learning process should be improved from the perspective of “subjective, interactive and deep learning.” This article clarifies how mathematics lessons should be conducted from the aspect of “subjective, interactive and deep learning.” |
