A Sensory Test was conducted on the images of units of home economics targeting male and female high school students. Female students had more interests in home economics than male students and evaluated most units are necessary. The units male students evaluated as necessary were only dietary habit and cooking practice. The low interests of male students in home economics reflected family backgrounds and the status quo of gender equality in Japan was clarified. |
