内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 There are quite a lot of the Buddhist Scriptures collected in the Buddhist Temples and the shrines in the Geibi District. I intend to make clear in this paper in which period and in what situations Shakyo was begun after making a list of the Buddhist Scriptures with the names of the periods of the ancient and medieval ages written in them. In the ancient ages, the men with strong political and economic power, such as Tairano-Kiyomori,who dedicated the so-called ‘Heike-Nokyo' to the Itsukushima Shrine, often dedicated the Buddhist Scriptures to the Buddhist Temples and the shrines to strenghten their religious faith and the scriptures were written on beautiful colorful paper with pictures sometimes drawn on it with golden or silver-colored letters. This kind of technique could be used only in the studios in the so-called ‘Ritsuryo-Period' in the ancient ages or in the studios influenced by them after the period, but there is not any clear evidence that the technique was used in the Geibi District, therefore we cannot conjecture it easily.
In the medieval ages, they began Shakyo in Geibi District, too, and Shakyo was done in certain temples in the Kamakura Period. In that period, the scriptures were written on paper by using Chinese ink,and the technique was rather simple. In the Muromachi Period, the temples or the groups of the priests in the certain districts began Shakyo in groups. The examples are: the groups of Kongoji Temple in Mihara, Saikokuji Temple 10 Onomtchi,Jodoji Temple 10 Kawakita and so on and they acted in the same period. In this period,The Buddhist Scriptures were written to be used in the temples and the shrines in the manor called ‘Shoen' or the villages rather than to be used for the individuals and their families, and so they were in great demand and at the same time they had to repair the damages of the sutras without fial. These things are regarded as a process of the spread of the Buddhism to the local regions
on the one hand, but on the other hand it can be said that the culture of the local regions rose to a higher level and the local people, who had only enjoyed the benefit of culture, became the persons who could convey their culture to other people. The contents of my paper are to be stated from the view of the latter.
